Growing Healthy Churches

Alisa and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend church planting assessment hosted by Growing Healthy Churches (GHC). GHC is a nationwide network that has three divisions; one of which has supporting church plants and planters as its primary focus. During this week long assessment in Sacramento, CA, we met some great people and made some relationships that I am sure will last well into the future. It was a very rewarding experience. We learned a lot about ourselves. We also received confirmation of what God has already placed in our hearts: to plant a multi cultural church. We left Sacramento having received GHC's full recommendation to move forward. We are looking forward to working closely with GHC in a number of areas including leadership development, fundraising, etc.

There is one thing that we received during our time with GHC that we didn't expect. The Lord really spoke to our hearts in terms of Crossroads becoming more than a church in itself, but also becoming a church planting center. Honesty, I am not sure what exactly that looks like, but I do know that God is up to something big. I am just humbled that He has included me in His plan. I am so very blessed to have so many of you on this journey with me.

First Service!

Only a few months ago it seemed like June 1st, (the date of our first service) seemed like it was so far away. Now June 1st has gone and past. Our first preview service was absolutely awesome. God is simply amazing. We had over 120 people attending (4 of which committed to Christ). I am so appreciative of our awesome praise team and all of the wonderful volunteers. I can't wait until we due our next service!

Live on JTV

I am very pleased and blessed to have had the chance to go on a local talk show here in Jackson. It was a tremendous opportuity to share the Crossroads Vision with the Jackson County veiwers. You can see the entire 12 minute interview below. God Bless you all, and thank you for your support.

Tony's Bio

Tony Jackson was born in Muskegon, Michigan, and moved to Jackson, Michigan upon his graduation from Western Michigan University in 1990. While at WMU, he met the former Alisa Suddeth who he married in 1992. Tony is a devoted husband and father of four, Shakia, Adrienne, Tony II, and Christopher.

In May of 1995, Tony accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, and united with Second Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of Rev. A. P. Williams. Tony immediately began working in the church serving as a Trustee and Treasurer until he accepted God’s call into the ministry. In March of 2002, Tony was licensed as a Gospel Minister. He was ordained three years later in March of 2005. Tony continued to serve as an Associate Minster under the guidance and mentorship of Pastor Williams.

During his tenure as an Associate Minister, Tony has served in various capacities within the ministry including teaching the Young Adult Sunday School as well as performing the duties of Sunday School Superintendent and Director of Christian Education. The Lord has given Tony a passion for sharing the gospel with the youth. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit and Pastor Williams, Tony was instrumental in starting the Extreme Church Youth Ministry at Second Missionary Baptist Church as well as Men Helping Men’s Ministry.

After much deliberation and prayer, Tony accepted the Lord’s call to launch a new multi-cultural, purpose driven church in Jackson. After receiving the blessing of Pastor Williams, he began organizing Crossroads Christian Center in February, 2008.

Tony is currently working towards a Master’s and Doctorate of Ministry Degrees at Andersonville Theological Seminary. He is also the owner of a State Farm Insurance Agency, where he has been blessed to be among the top agencies in the nation.
